Vibrations sur fibres 21, Retrospective Paulette-Marie Sauvé

With her fingertips, Paulette-Marie Sauvé expresses herself through the art of  tapestry. A personal, sophisticated language, where the weft thread becomes the narrative.

Native of North Bay in Ontario, it is at the Institute of Applied Arts of Montreal that she discovered the art of weaving in the 70s. From her early years, her masterful works adorned the walls of flagship buildings of the metropolis. Travels and discoveries follows. The artist moves with ease from an abstract mode of expression to figurative representations.

She moved on a farm where she lives with her husband in Verchères, Québec. They raised sheeps and passionately sheared raw materials. Nominations and awards flow over the years, as her art finds its place in museums and collectors alike.
